Grant Writing & Proposal Development
I work alongside your team to build a strong application and write a proposal you can stand behind.
More than the words on the page
A good grant application explains what your organization wants to do, why it matters, and how you’ll carry it out. I help develop those pieces and write the proposal for you.
I’ve been the person responsible for both winning funding and making the funded work happen. That experience shapes the questions I ask, the budgets I build, and the promises written into an application.
What I can help develop:
You may come to me with a detailed program plan, an early idea, or an application that has your team wondering where to start. Depending on what you already have, I can help with:
Some organizations need help with all of this. Others need someone to take on a specific part. We’ll define the work together before we begin.

How we work together
You know your organization and the people it serves. I bring grant development, program-building experience, and the time to do the work. We’ll agree on the scope at the start, so you know what I’m taking on and what information I’ll need from you.
We clarify the opportunity and the project. You tell me what your organization is pursuing and where you want support. I review the application requirements, learn about the proposed work, and identify the information and decisions needed to develop a strong proposal.
I build and write the application. Depending on your needs, I can develop the program plan, activities, staffing, budget, and outcomes, as well as the proposal itself. I’ll gather what I need from your team, bring decisions back to you, and keep the application moving. You’ll have opportunities to review the work and ensure it accurately represents your organization.
We make sure it’s ready to submit. I’ll check the final narrative, numbers, attachments, and funder requirements with you. We’ll decide in advance who submits the application and what support you need through the deadline.
I’ll tell you if I think an opportunity is a poor fit. A grant application takes real time from an organization, and I want that effort directed toward something worth pursuing.
Experience behind the work
I’ve developed successful competitive grant and contract proposals totaling more than $2.2 million in awards. My role has often continued after the award: building the funded program, tracking deliverables, reporting outcomes, and working through the practical problems that arise along the way.
Let’s start a conversation
You don’t need to send me a grant notice or share a funder’s name in your first message. Tell me a little about your organization and the kind of help you’re looking for. We can discuss the opportunity, timeline, and scope when you’re comfortable.
